What is Tended Legacy?

Stories are meant to be tended.

Tended Legacy Publishing Co. is an independent publishing home for stories about the people, places, and moments that shape us—stories of belonging, becoming, family, community, and finding our way home.

It began with one story, one lifelong dream, and a belief that the things we lovingly tend have a way of becoming part of what we leave behind.

Where She Learned to Stay

Sometimes leaving is only the beginning.

When Everly Stone finds her way to the small Gulf Coast town of Morrow Harbor, she isn't looking for a new life. She certainly isn't looking for a place to belong.

But Morrow Harbor has a way of making room for people.

There’s an old blue bookshop, neighbors who have a habit of showing up, and a town full of people carrying stories of their own.

Little by little, Everly begins to discover that starting over isn't always about leaving everything behind.

Sometimes, it's about finding what feels enough like home to make you want to stay.

Gulf light, sea grass, a path to the water, and a distant pier

Welcome to Morrow Harbor

Somewhere along Florida’s Gulf Coast, there’s a little town where the streets eventually find their way to the water.

The buildings are weathered by salt and sun. The Gulf breeze finds its way through open doors. There’s good food, strong coffee, old stories, new beginnings, and a community that tends to know your business before you’ve decided whether it’s any of their business.

It isn't perfect.

Neither are the people who live there.

They've loved. They've lost. They've made mistakes. They laugh loudly, disagree occasionally, show up anyway, and understand that sometimes the smallest things are the ones that matter most.

Life moves a little differently in Morrow Harbor.

People linger over meals. Neighbors notice when you haven't been around. The beach has a way of calling you back. And there's usually someone willing to pull up another chair.

You won't find Morrow Harbor on a map.

But I hope, somewhere along the way, it begins to feel like a place you've known all your life.

Welcome home to Morrow Harbor.

Meet Krystal

Hi, I’m Krystal.

A Kentucky girl, wife, mom to three boys, lifelong dreamer, and, at forty-eight, finally able to add author to that list.

I spent years carrying the dream of writing a book while life was busy becoming a story of its own. Then one day, I stopped wondering if I could do it and started writing.

That decision became Where She Learned to Stay, Morrow Harbor, and eventually Tended Legacy Publishing Co.

I write about the things I love most in stories and in life—family, friendship, laughter, belonging, second chances, and the ordinary moments that somehow become the ones we remember.

And I’m just getting started.

From the Roots

Every name has a story.

Tended Legacy began long before there was a publishing company.

It began in the houses, faith, family, laughter, ordinary days, and people who taught me what it meant to belong—and what is worth carrying forward.

Why Tended Legacy? →

You’re always welcome here.

Stories brought me here, but the people and places that shaped me taught me why they matter.

I believe in stories that make us laugh, make us feel, and remind us that none of us are quite as alone as we sometimes think we are.

So whether you came for a book, wandered in looking for Morrow Harbor, or simply found your way here somehow, I’m glad you did.

The porch light is on.
There’s a seat for you at the table.

Stay awhile.
